Struggling to feed four day old baby

I’m currently four days PP and im struggling to get my baby to feed. I’m desperate to BF but she just won’t latch. She’s also not really interested in formula. Birth was a traumatic 48 hours and ended in forceps delivery. She’s still very mucousy and being sick all the time to the point where she started throwing up green bile. Ontop of that my milk still hasn’t come in and I’m even struggling to get colostrum. Trying everything that the nurses are suggesting.. pumping, not pumping, warm shower, different positions, they’ve check for tongue tie… was wondering if anyone else has experienced this and if there was any tips or tricks, why this would be etc. if so, could you please share?

Sorry that I haven’t much advice (it’s a long time ago for me!) but I remember with my first- it was exactly like that. Neither of us really knew what to do, and I worried about how much he was feeding.
But- it did get better- within that first week.
Sorry that’s not much help- but I hope it clicks soon for you.

The green vomit is an A and E situation. It could indicate a blocked bowel where it telescopes in on itself. I'm sorry to add to your stress but you need to get her checked tonight x

This! Green bile isn't to be ignored.

OP I would go to A&E due to the green bile.

I agree with PP, green vomit needs to be checked out, I think you should get her seen tonight.
Keep offering her the breast and expressed milk from a feeding cup if she won’t suck. Pumping will stimulate your supply for now while you try and work on getting the baby to feed

Yes I agree get her checked out. The pp is referring to intussusception and I would want to get that ruled out in your shoes.

Even if there isn’t anything underlying, it sounds quite likely she is dehydrated if she’s vomiting but not feeding.

At 4 days pp you may be able to take her to the maternity ward rather than going through A&E - worth calling them to check.

How are you and your baby OP?

I came on to ask the same thing- how are things today? Hope you’re both alright.
