How long for hfm to scab and can we go anywhere?

My toddler has somehow caught hand foot and mouth. I wondered from when you first saw the blisters how long did they take to scab? And is there anywhere we can go while she has them? We are going crazy inside the house. She doesn't go to nursery so we usually go to playgroups but obviously I'm not going to take her to any atm.

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

NHS advice doesn’t say to isolate with HFM. If the child has no fever anymore and feels well, their advice is to send them to nursery / go on about your day as you would, no need to wait until blisters are healed.

You won’t get any consensus on where is ok to take her, because the NHS advice is that there is no need to isolate. Schools and nurseries often follow this, so will take kids with HFM. Some people will think this is bad, others will say you’re fine to take her anywhere you like.

Just to add, since the weather is nice now, you could choose the middle way and take them to the park and playground rather than to indoor playgroups where there is a bigger possibility of children sharing toys etc.

I'd do this tbh. Nursery was happy to take mine once the fever had gone down.

just do what you want, mine went to nursery as usual. stay outside if you want to be ultra considerate
