Found a vape in my 12 year old’s room

It’s empty. Interested to know how others have handled this. Don’t want to jump to conclusions. She’s gone a bit off the rails at school recently and we are addressing that. Also pending ADHD/ autism assessment. At the moment she has gone off to school with no idea. WWYD?

Talk to them about the dangers of drugs and how having a vape under the age of 18 is a crime.

Ask her about it. Explain the health risks and legal position. Tell her you are disapointed she is using them and that she needs to stop or … consequences. Follow through if needed.

But remember it is not the end of the world. Many people who enjoyed under cigarettes, alcohol etc while under age still still grew up to be pillars of society.

It’s all about testing boundaries.
