Could this be a second, milder case of chickenpox in my son?

my son had chicken pox in 2022, it was bad but not severe. he was 2 at the time. he’s now 6, he’s spent a few days in contact previously with someone who’s recently come up in chicken pox. today, i noticed these spots on my son. they weren’t there yesterday when i gave him a bath. does this look like the start of chicken pox??? if it is, it seems to be a lot milder than when he had it before.

Yes could be. My daughter had it when she was 1. Later she got it again at nursery, but quite mild. Bizarrely she was diagnosed with it again a few years later, again very mildly.

It’s possible. I had it 4 times. 🙈 Confirmed by paediatrics. The last time was when I was about 10, so I remember most of them. Awful.
