Twelve week old suddenly very jumpy and upset around other people

I have 2 little girls, 3 and 12 weeks. My 12 week old has been a content and smiley baby but the last 3 weeks her behaviour has changed. Out of the blue she’s suddenly become really jumpy, the smallest of movements or noises make her leap and cry but her daddy hammering whilst building a wardrobe didn’t affect her at all. She’s also crying anytime anyone looks at her in her car seat or pram and crying hysterically if anyone else holds her. When I take her back again she’s very difficult to settle, her cries are so bad you would think she was hurt in some way. We started going to baby class when she was 6 weeks old and she initially loved it but for the last 3 weeks she won’t even let me lie her down on the mat without screaming hysterically. If I get her settled and try to do any of the activities with her she cries. It’s made me so anxious to take her out anywhere and I feel like giving up her class and mums & tots group which isn’t fair on my other child 😞 has anyone else experienced this with their little one? My family have been saying that she’s too young to make strange and her behaviour is a little strange for such a young baby.

Google the twelve-week leap. In fact, get yourself a leap app, if you can, so you know when each one is happening. Developmental changes can come with some weirdness, usually temporary.
