First time urosepsis second time general infection Third time chest infection. She had Covid 19 when she was 2 weeks old and required oxygen but since she turned 11 months old she has had these high temperature nearly every week she is under a consultant that’s ordered every test he can think of she has tested positive for viruses during this time the usual Epstein and rsv etc, but nothing official she has calpol all the time but no real answers when she spikes she acts normal but does sometimes cry shake or vomit but then acts fine eating drinking chatting etc anyone got any advice ?

Does your LO go to nursery?

There are some very rare conditions causing recurrent fever (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Familial_Mediterranean_fever) but that's really unlikely.

However - is the consultant a paediatrician or a different speciality? Have they asked immunology and or infectious diseases to see your child? There are some immune system conditions that are worth ruling out.

Thank you for replying Yes she goes to nursery she has been seen in infectious diseases too everything came back as clear? He is a paediatrician but has also referred us to places like ID and kidney specialist for a DMSA everything is clear. She gets sent home from nursery nearly every 2 weeks but it’s never just a temperature it’s always fever over 39!!

Is she actually unwell with it?

My eldest constantly seemed to have a temp during his first couple of years. Could rocket up to 41 and he'd still be acting completely fine, no symptoms. It would go within an hour sometimes.

We only ever gave calpol if he seemed unwell in himself. Spoke to a nurse practitioner- it was covidtimes- and she just he probably had a strong immune response and it was just developing.

He's 6 now and rarely has a temp, seems to have no health issues. When he gets any kind of virus or cold now he just gets very grumpy and stroppy but rarely any symptoms even when the rest of the house is very unwell.
