Has anyone had success in mediation for their EHCP?

Has mediation ever worked for anyone in getting changes to their EHCP? We need changes to sections B and F because he can't currently access any of the recommendations on his EHCP without significant therapeutic support. He needs SALT, OT and Psych support for developmental trauma. Also been newly diagnosed with a language disorder that wasn't previously known. Fully prepared to take to tribunal but there is a hell of a lot of evidence even at this stage that he can't access education yet, so just wondering if we might have a chance.

Have you had a recent annual review? If you have evidence that his needs have changed and he has new diagnoses and AR would be the usual first step.
but yes mediation can be successful.

No we're only a month past his final EHCP so within the apoeal window, but they have been implementing it since the draft came out in February. It just about manages to keep him in school on a reduced timetable, but no stratgies on it are accessible to him so he has minimal education.

No point doing an AR, if the la refuse to add stuff it just extends the time until you get to appeal to add it all.

It's hard to say, sometimes they will change things sometimes they won't. It's quite a wait for appeal hearings atm so definitely worth trying mediation first then get your appeal lodged asap if that doesn't work.

Is he receiving any education? The LA have a legal duty to ensure suitable (suitable for his Sen needs) full time education is in place. If it's not when you lodge the appeal let tribunal know and ask them to expedite your case.

We didn't do official mediation, we were making mutually agreed adjustments all the way up to tribunal
