Hey! I have just moved into my new flat on Sunday and I got flooring in on the 23rd of April as there was no flooring in what so ever so got carpet and vinyl now I’m seeing everywhere it’s dangerous for baby’s to be where new carpet has been fitted😭my baby is 6 months old, I didn’t air it out as I wasn’t here I was still at my old flat but now I’m scared that the chemicals haven’t gone as there has been no airing out😩

Just ventilate it a lot. New plastics can take around 6 weeks to fully off-gas so ventilate day and night. Just keep the air flowing in the rooms with lots of fresh air coming in.

They’ll be absolutely fine, stop doomscrolling

Yeah I have started opening the windows now to ventilate it I can’t believe i didn’t do it when it was first done I just wasn’t staying here but I never knew it could be dangerous😩

Thankyou so much! I’m the worst at this honestly and also doesn’t help having PPA🥲

I got new carpet fitted throughout my whole house including my 1 and 3 year old bedrooms a couple of months ago, never thought for a second it would be dangerous? They are fine btw. It's getting warmer now I'm sure your windows will be open anyway.
If it helps, carpet fitters don't come dressed in bio hazard suits when they install a carpet so im sure it's absolutely fine.

Thankyou so much for this! I’m sure will be all okay too just kept seeing it everywhere and it was making me so anxious!
