Hi all! Looking for ideas for a garden party for a first birthday? What garden toys do you recommend for the kids to use?

I think we did a sand pit, I set up the mud kitchen with some potions, set up a tuff tray with a sea theme, and had a bubble machine.

The year before at my son's first birthday we did hire a mini soft play and that was good too.

He hired an outdoor soft play for my twins first.

At 1, they are barely mobile. I’d put a blanket on the ground and just bring out some toys. Be prepared for rain though and to switch inside though unless you are putting up a marquee. It will mostly be a party for adults.

How old are are the other kids?

For the one year old a ball pit and bubble machine will be fun.

Blanket on the ground, a gazebo for shade, a few toys and a plan B for moving indoors if cold and / or raining.

Unless there's lots of older children you really don't need to start hiring stuff when they're one.
