How can I reassure my daughter about periods after seeing me in pain?

Sorry this might be TMI as I want to provide full context.

I’ve recently come off birth control, and my last two periods have been pretty uncomfortable. I don’t think it’s cause for concern, I’m just not used to period pains really because I’m 26, have three kids, and have been on BC in between which made my periods much lighter - to be honest I’m just not used to them being heavy. Also I’ve not been eating great the past few days and I know for me that makes it worse.

I’m not doubled over in pain or anything, but I am quite expressive so my face kind of says it all. I am also a bit of a wuss when it comes to any sort of tummy ache or cramps - something about it in particular just irks me a bit.

The last two I’ve been visibly a bit uncomfortable and have been taking pain killers/heat pad ect. DD6 knows what a period is, we’ve had that talk, but when she’s been asking what’s wrong I just said “oh I’m on my period and it’s giving me tummy ache but I’m fine”. She’s been asking her dad as well and he’s said the same thing, but last night she came and woke us up really upset saying she’s scared of getting her period. I feel really really bad and I don’t know what to do. Obviously comforted her and said it doesn’t hurt that much it’s just like a tummy ache but she was pretty hysterical last night.

We let her sleep in our bed, she seems better today but I feel like I should address it, I’m just not sure how. She’s not really a cryer or a whiner so this was pretty out of character.
