No babbling or crawling at 8.5 months, should I be worried?

FTM here and I am starting to think LG isn’t reaching her baby milestones. My LG is 8.5 months and no babbling at all! She will make vowel sounds ‘aaaa’ or ‘eeee’ and blow raspberries and laugh and squeal but I have never heard any baba mama dada etc. has anyone else experienced this and their child has went on to have no speech delay or should I be worried?

She is rolling and sitting independently and very social, good eye contact, shows separation anxiety of I leave room etc but no babbling, no crawling and no pulling to stand. Are these all delayed milestones?

I have heard babies being late to babble before as they are perfecting motor skills but she’s not doing either.

I have asked for the HV to review but I am going down a rabbit hole with google and would just like others experience

TIA xx

Sounds very normal to me - many babies aren't crawling at 8.5mths, some never crawl (I didn't) - and because of that it's not a mandatory milestone. There's a wide age range of 'normal' for most milestones - average ages are just that, averages. So by definition half of babies will be older than the average. My friend's baby was a very early babbler/talker (while mine was pretty much silent) but didn't walk til 18mths. Now 5 years on you couldn't tell which of our children was the early talker/late walker. Of course if you're concerned you can discuss things with your HV. But don't worry that milestones are tests that your daughter is 'failing' because she's not younger than average.

Sounds normal.

Also - some babies start to babble gradually. Got others it is a very sudden progression. My son woke up one day around 8.5 months and was suddenly babbling all the time when previously he hadn't at all!

Both of mine were naturally chatty, but even the one who was very ahead on communication was not saying mama/dada/baba at 8 months old.
There was also a huge difference between them in terms of crawling. DC1 11 months on the dot, DC2 8 months on the dot! I just don’t think that makes a difference in the long run.

Mine is 8,5 months, and occasionally does some babbling but so far is not a chatterbox. She doesn't crawl or goes to a sitting position yet, and is a very wobbly sitter.

Doesn't roll confidently yet, which made me take her to a physio. The physio wasn't worried about any of this, but did say to add lots of stimulation and that baby is a bit lazy.

DD1 was also a bit atypical. She said her first worth aged 8 months and only started walking at 18 months!
