Ride-on car for nearly 5 year old: worth it in terrace house?

My nearly 5 year old DD has asked for a ride-on car for her birthday. We live in an average sized terrace house with garden. To me they look really bulky and I can't see how she will get use out of it (not that keen to take her on the pavement with it as we live in a very busy area!) But it is literally all she keeps asking for.

Can anyone give me some tips please - are these a good buy, will she likely get use out of it? They're not cheap!

Where would you store it when not in use? It would just become another piece of furniture in my terrace house!
We have a little tikes car in the yard garden but 5yo is too big for it.
What's the size limit of the ride on car?
