18 month old honestly puts everything in her mouth?!

She is my third baby and my other two weren’t nearly half as bad as she is with trying to eat absolutely everything she shouldn’t. We were in the garden yesterday and every single rock, piece of dirt, leaf went in her mouth 🥴

At playgroup today she was eating the sand in the tuff tray. She puts every single tiny toy in her mouth too and she KNOWS she shouldn’t as she will look at me when she does it.

I know this might sound silly to ask but is it actually normal? And when does it stop? Like I said my two boys were never like this so I’m just not used to it!

Perfectly normal.

My 16 month old does, I've never thought it was odd? I've never told her off though, I just wouldn't let her access anything hazardous.

I don’t really tell her off as such just maybe give a ‘ah ah ah’ 😂 I think I was just really hoping she’d have slowed it down but after yesterdays day in the garden she definitely doesn’t seem to want to stop just yet 😅

My 20month old still does it. She can’t even be trusted to have bobbles in her hair

CarCarTruckJeep · 25/02/2026 21:21

Normal, all mine have been like this at that age

Oh my god this is exactly what mine is like too! She will take it out and I’ll find it on the floor sloppy and wet 🤦🏻‍♀️
