Relocating to From with a 6yo - family life & local insights?

Hello,

We’re at a very early stage of exploring options and trying to get a realistic picture from people who actually live there.

We’re thinking about moving to Frome with our 6-year-old and would love to hear from families who live in or around Frome.

I’d be really interested to hear about:
• The local community - does it feel welcoming and family-friendly?
• Primary schools - any experiences or general advice?
• Holiday clubs / kids’ activities -
are there enough options during school holidays?
• Outdoor life - walks, nature spots, and easy family days out?
• Any parts of Frome that are particularly popular with families?

We’re drawn to the idea of a smaller town with a strong community feel and access to nature, but we’d really value some honest, lived-experience perspectives.

Any insights, good or bad would be very much appreciated.

How high above sea level is it as somerset seems to be one massive flood plain at this time of year

You might want to get MNHQ to amend the title of your thread OP as at the moment it foesnt mention Frome

Also, I’d look at Stone in Staffordshire. Further from the sea but has all of the things you’ve listed plus you’d have better transport links
