How to dress baby for garden in winter/spring

I like to spend time in my garden while my 6 month old sleeps in her pram alongside. I will generally layer her up in the same way I would for a walk. As the weather (hopefully) gets nicer, and there are more garden jobs to do over the next couple of months, I'd like to spend a bit more time out here. Her naps at currently short, but I was thinking about putting her playpen outside with a waterproof padded mat underneath, so we can spend some of her wake windows outside too. I'm not sure how I would dress her for this though?
Her winter layers, pramsuit etc are very thick and would restrict her ability to play. I'm hoping weather will get a bit better into march but imagine it will still be cold. Wondering if anyone has suggestions or does similar with their LOs?

Fleece lined hippy chick suit. They come up huge, so plenty of growing room and waterproof enough for crawling around on the grass too. I'd put normal clothes underneath with a jumper and thick socks, and then waterproof booties (basically like rubber bags) on her feet. I'd also put a tarpaulin under the waterproof mat.

Thanks for your reply @Swaytheboat. 12-18m seems to be their smallest size for the suits but will see if I can find similar elsewhere. And have a look for some booties!

My chunky baby was fine in the 12-18 months from about eight months, it just lasted until she was two. It has good velcro on the sleeves and ankles so you can secure in place. Maybe vinted so you don't have to spend a fortune?

I used one of the Tuppence and Crumble fleece stars a LOT. Very versatile in changeable weather - easy to get baby in and out as no zips or poppers! Then leggings bodysuit and jumper underneath depending on the weather.
