Did anyone end up being a stay at home Mum after having their third child? With all of them being young still? I currently work part-time and I will try and go back to work after I’ve had my third, but I just feel anxious and nervous because you know what it’s like when they all get ill you have to have time off work. I know some people Who have worked and then had their 3rd and became a stay at home mum because their kids just kept getting poorly as there’s more chance of having to phone in at work and they said it started to become a problem at work…. I will have 3 under 8 years.

I think part time is excellent and you should stick with it as much as possible. Working history, pension contributions etc, it's much much better for you long term.

Early years are hard but kids grow up and leave and you need to take care of yourself in the meantime.

@PenguinsandWhalesThankyou. I just suffer with anxiety and this is my thought right now lol. I’m trying to find a cleaning job to change into as those hours can be earlyish and my partner could watch them if they were ill so none of us would have to phone in sick as he starts afters x

Yeah I became sahm after DC2 and now have 3 children aged 5 and under. We wouldn’t be able to afford 2 x nursery (oldest in reception), I just can’t see how it’s possible plus the baby needs me
