Rebuilding after loss—how do you find small wins as a parent?

Hi everyone, I’m a solo dad of three (7, 6, and 4) after losing my wife suddenly a couple of years ago. Sat in a coffee shop writing this after the first school run of 2026! Most days, it still feels like I’m fumbling through the chaos such as bedtime battles, endless chores, and never enough time for myself or the kids.
I recently started an Instagram (@thedadrebuilds) to document the journey, partly for my own sanity, partly to connect with anyone else in the trenches.

I started jotting down little “10-minute wins” just to survive the evenings, and over time, found that sharing these routines (and the messy moments) was actually helping me process everything.
I even ended up building a little library of these 10-minute fixes (originally just for myself), which turned into a project called SolveIn10. It’s not a sales pitch, just something that grew out of necessity and a lot of trial and error.

Would love to hear what’s actually worked for other parents on the tough days, or how you find moments of peace in the madness. And if anyone wants to swap ideas or just talk, my DMs are always open.

Solidarity to everyone navigating the hard stuff. Some nights, just making it to bedtime is a win.
