Hi everyone
I’m sharing because I believe this is a safety issue other parents should know about. I bought a Tommee Tippee Perfect Prep Day & Night machine (new, from Amazon, July 2022). It was used for around 12 months, following the instructions exactly and maintained well. Then, while in use in my child’s nursery, it produced a burning smell, fizzing noise and visible smoke — a clear hazard.
When I reported it to Tommee Tippee, they refused to inspect the unit, claimed the manufacture date meant it was “too old” even though usage was limited, and gave contradictory statements about how long these machines should last. They offered a small credit and then closed the case without addressing the safety issue.
This concerns me greatly, particularly given previous issues raised in the press about their machines (black mould etc.). If you own one of these or are considering buying one, you might want to be cautious. Has anyone else had similar issues with this or other Tommee Tippee machines?
Thank you.
