Have treated for nitts last Tuesday, the whole family is combing every second day with a nitty gritty comb. This is coming up on a tissue after coming I presume these are nitts?

will these ever go away?

My kids are grown up now, but I remember the old nit days. The nits weren't black though, more a ginger/brown colour. The eggs were clear or whiteish and glued to the hair shaft itself. I used to slide them off between 2 fingernails. When I treated I always did the whole family; both kids plus me and DH, although I never found any on DH, but my fringe would often yield a few. I think I used something called Lyclear, but Hedrin also rings a bell.

Apparently headlice change colour depending on the colour of the hair they’re in! @thenightskydo your children have red or brown hair?

Do you have any hair straighteners? They “cook” the eggs so that they can’t hatch. I used to treat and comb DDs hair at the first sign of trouble and then straighten it after washing for a couple of weeks just in case I had missed any because she had such thick hair.

This. On highest heat. Kills everything straight away.

That's interesting. DD was very white blonde, which was easy to spot the little ginger/brown ones. DS was actually a dark ginger, so much harder to see.
