Is anyone else in this hellish stage of dropping the nap?

DD is two years and four months and recently it’s been hard getting her to go down for her nap. Mostly I don’t bother and it makes bedtime a breeze. However, it does restrict afternoons considerably because we can’t really go anywhere as then she’ll fall asleep and we’ll have a really late bedtime.

Today she woke at 545 (she doesn’t normally) and so I thought she’d need a nap but it doesn’t seem to be happening. So now we’re sort of stuck … I know people will say to go out and if she falls asleep so what but I’ve got work tomorrow and I could do without a 10pm bedtime!

I used to tell them it’s nap time and they’d lie in their bed and I’d go to my bed and pretend to sleep until they fell asleep. Sometimes I fell asleep too and we both napped. For mine it was a fear of missing out. By being a boring lump under the duvet, they would realise they’re a bit tired too.

She’s in her cot listening to her Tonie box. I do think she might actually go now …
