Swimsuit for baby with 'built-in' swim nappy - anyone tried them?

I've bought DD (8mo) one of these swimsuits with a built-in nappy, but I'm now nervous about trying it at the pool in case it's rubbish! Has anyone tried them, are they any good?

Yes we had one for DD1 and DD2.

It's OK. They need to be quite tight around the bum and legs to prevent runny poo leaks, which I think they found uncomfortable. I found it left marks on their skin despite fitting well on the rest of their bodies.

I found mine never pooed in the pool anyway, they'd wait till they had a nice clean dry nappy on!

I use a washable swim nappy for ds and have done since he was a couple of months old. They are designed to hold poo in (rather than pee) but luckily in all the time we have been taking him he has never once pooed while swimming (now 20 months old)

Thanks for the replies. I'm going to give it a go and hopefully she won't poo!

DD has always worn a Mothercare swimsuit with built-in nappy when swimming and we've had no problems. The legs need to be snug-ish but we've never had a problem with marks where they've been digging-in. Luckily she's a pretty regular once-a-day pooh girl so we've never tested their pooh holding capabilities. You may need to shop around for the best fit - Sainsbury's had some nice ones but the leg holes were quite big with hardly any elastication so would have been useless for us. I've found Mothercare ones the best - they have proper swimsuit ones or just bottoms.

Well, we went swimming today and she didn't poo! Her swimsuit is a Sainsbury's one and it is very pretty but I think if she had pooed it just wouldn't have held it in. It kind of went up her bum a bit and the leg holes are big. She is quite regular too so as long as we go to the pool at the right time of day we should be fine. I'll shop around for a better one when she grows out of this one, which won't be that long anyway at the rate she's growing!
