Has anyone got any experience of this horrible virus?

My poor DS is 10 months and he was diagnosed yesterday in paeds A&E. Literally happened overnight. His eczema is actually fairly mild (one flare up months ago), so it's come as a shock. We're relieved it'll clear up on its own in a week or two, but can anyone who's been through it offer some tips for helping with his discomfort?

We normally use hydromol daily and mild hydrocortisone for the eczema. We've got Piriton for the itching and obviously Calpol for the pain/fever. To avoid secondary bacterial or fungal infection in the open sores, I'm planning on a tepid bath daily (with colloidal oat for the itching). Wondering if I should pop a few drops of TCP into the bath, and/or switch to Sudocrem for the antiseptic properties?

Quite sad for him, poor mite. And have no idea where he picked it up so feel incredibly guilty too. 😔DD (3) appears to be fine and has never had HFM rash, but is in childcare so she must have been exposed at some point.
