Friend’s child and it’s starting to get awkward

We’re a group of five friends, all drawn together by our kids, who befriended one another at nursery. It’s been gorgeous as all of the mums get on and we’ve become quite close… But as the kids have grown it’s starting to become apparent that one child in particular is causing trouble, fights, being rough and rude etc. The parents never do anything about it either - they always stand well back while the rest of us try and sort out the drama and prevent their kid from causing more trouble. The child really influences the others too and it’s hard to watch. We’re all beginning to dread when they’re there and it’s even got to the point where we want to avoid them but also feel bad.

They’re just seemingly a bit useless - she tends to just laugh if she ever sees anything or stands back completely.

Would you say anything? Suck it up? Or slowly phase them out?

I would phase them out. If you really want to stay friends with mum, then organise adult meet ups one to one or as a group without the kids. Life is too short for having to put up with someone’s bad parenting especially if your children aren’t really even friends.
