11 month old drinks from TumTum cup, nursery has spout cup

My 11 month has started nursery. From weaning age, I introduced the non valve tum tum cup as I heard this is good for oral development etc etc.
She started nursery few weeks ago and they provide all children with Tommee Tippee first free flow spout cup.
I bought one for home so she could practise but all she does is a sucking motion like it’s a straw with it and doesn’t understand you have to tilt it. I’m now worried that she isn’t getting enough water at nursery and after the age of one, they provide a afternoon cup of milk in the same cup (due to new guidelines apparently) and she won’t get her afternoon milk as she won’t know what to do.

How do I help her learn??

Just keep giving it to her, she’ll learn soon enough.

Just gently lift it for her and she'll get it.

I really wouldn't worry too much about it, she'll get used to it very quickly.

My daughter couldn't for the life of her work out how to use a 360 cup. Tried so hard at home but to no avail. And then found out they had them in nursery, in the baby room. I explained to them that I was worried she wasn't actually drinking because she didn't know how to use the cups. They were fairly sure she was, but said they'd keep an eye out. Not long after that I went in for a parents stay and play session at tea time and lo and behold, she picked the cup up and drank out of it perfectly. Even after that she still wouldn't use one at home.

My point being, don't worry about it. She'll definitely work it out.
