struggling with relationship between OH and teenage son

Oh well, little boy has become a teenager, does not want to do things with OH but wants to be by himself on a screen and OH has more or less given up on him whilst at the same time showing continuous disapproval and dissatisfaction with him and with me. I also struggle with his screen time but I try to relate to his interests and find a balance between what he wants and doing something nice outside the screen too. He is in a new school still trying to find his feet and find friendships. Not sure what to do, the atmosphere in the house is really bad and I am really struggling with it

Get rid. OH sounds like a dickhead.

I'm So Sorry to hear you're experiencing this & it doesn't help that your oh is compounded with disapproval 😥
God Bless You & Your Dear Son
I feel it's natural for teens to go through phases like this & although it's simple to suggest trying to not worry, I completely comprehend that you will until you commence to see the phase passes 🙏
I'm praying this will be sooner than you might yet believe
Much love to You&Yours 💚

Have you sat down with dh and had a conversation about this? I don’t mean criticise or attack him over it, I mean a calm, positive, and constructive conversation. Dh is struggling with the change in their relationship, it can be tricky to navigate, but you can support each other and ds.

So sorry you are going through this.

Would your OH be open to reading some books about teenagers to understand that this is normal behaviour, and coming up with a plan you stick to together to tackle any behavioural issues or any times where expectations dont meet reality, to ride out the bumpy bits and take advantage of the good bits?
How much screen time does he have currently, what rules are in place? Is it worth you revisiting these to meet halfway with your OH?

Sounds like you and your OH would be better off living apart atm.

we have had multiple conversations but not in a good climate. Perhaps it is a good idea to do this calmly and see what we can all change, thanks for this ❤
