Literally everything! He is always bitting his nails and puts everything he touches in his mouth. I know that this is oral sensory seeking, but I don’t know how to get his to stop doing it! It’s a probably because he’s constantly getting sick. He does wash his hands etc, but it’s out of my control at school!
Please can anyone help!!!

Sounds like he needs an object to chew e.g.
a Chewellery bracelet.
Sounds like this may well be the reason he’s getting ill a lot. Not sure if that’s what you meant.
Might be difficult if he is exploring items with his mouth. He may need a range of “validated” items to chew alongside some basic chew/ don’t chew visuals.
Does he have any other Sensory needs? If so might be worth seeking a sensory OT assessment. Not all OTs have this specialism. Have they noticed him chewing at school?

Yes sorry that’s what I ment! He’s putting everything in his mouth and i think picking up lots of germs in doing so!

he’s definitely sensory seeking isn’t he. He was under review at the children development center and I raise this at the time but it was all dismissed sadly but I really want him to stop doing this!

is flavoured nail varnish a bad idea 🙈. I’m going to look into the chewy necklace but worried about still encouraging it if that makes sense?
