Daughter is requesting a slime making party for her 5th birthday and is inviting 4 friends. Has anyone ever had one of these!? I’m not sure what to do or and don’t know how to make slime myself… Any tips or ideas appreciated.

Ok I happened to be in Aldi earlier and they have an “ultimate slime unboxing set” which contains 62 tubs of slime / add-ins that they can use to decorate their slime. I’m really considering this instead but not sure if it would would bring the same fun as actually making the slime…

Maybe it’s because I’m a teacher but this wouldn’t phase me at all.

As long as you relate beforehand and keep things moving so they are engaged it will be fine. Lots of ‘now you mix this and then it will be Lucy’s turn to mix’.

Then they can play with it at the table and then have another activity ready to do so you can tidy up. A party game or something with another adult.

Nooooo, don’t get a kit. You can get your own little pots, food colouring, fragrances and things to add. I once had a lip gloss making party that was was over a decade ago and is still talked about today.

DD used to make slime all the time, she got to a point where she’d sell it.

you need pva glue, clear or white or both and an activator - usually Elmers.
If you set up a load of pots, coloured glitter and sequins, shaving foam etc they’d definitely be able to make it. You could look at some tutorials on YouTube or instagram. Get some ideas from Pinterest etc.
DD made Christmas themed ones, Halloween with Halloween sequins added etc.
You could make something else to make the them last longer… lava lamps or snow storms or something.

I did - it was great! I pretty much followed this https://www.modern-glam.com/slime-party/ had a pot of pva ready for them then had glitter and food colour gels on the table for them to add. When they were finished mixing I went round and added the slime activator to turn it into slime. A few tips - have a disposable table cloth for quick clean up, buy some pots with lids from Amazon so they can use it to mix and take home with them, have lollipop sticks for mixing. And don’t let them add too much colour - it goes too runny! The kids loved it.
