When did you start buying your children adult clothes?

My DD is nearly 11. She’s 5” and about a woman’s size 10 I would say. She’s started to develop hips and breasts (she’s not long started her period and developing fast) and children’s size clothes just do not fit her and even if I get age 13 they are too long but don’t fit her anywhere else!

Should I just get her woman’s size clothes but in petite length? Or will they not appeal to a tween??

My DD is 11, 5” 2 and in size 10 women’s or Small. Trousers she needs Short or petite length and styles are a bit difficult. Some of the teen stuff in shops that do 13-14 or 14-15 still fits so New Look, Primark and Asda are still options.

Yes, around 10/11, as her shape started to change. Usually the petite or short versions, but depending on which store it’s from anything from an 8 to a 14!

Try the section in New Look, 9-15.

I find the 915 range really small, designed for very slim children with no adult shape about them. I hate buying her things only for her to not be able to fasten them round her waist/hips and I don’t want her to grow a complex. On the other hand, ‘women’s wear’ might not appeal to her in terms of style.

I’m 5”2 and petite length fit me fine so I can maybe get her to try some of mine on to find out what dress size she is (I have things ranging from 8-12 for her to try):

Exactly the same issue with my dd, had it with both of them at the same age. Only H&M had a decent range for age 12-14 that fit, Boden she’s size 13-14
desptie just turning 11…

I agree 11-15 is a a tricky age, stuck between babyish stuff and stuff that’s inappropriate…
