Is your 6 year old boy easier than they were age 5?

Just hoping for a bit of “yeah he’s actually quite a bit easier” type of answers, although I think it’s probably wishful thinking!

My DS has never been a particularly easy going well behaved character. He’s bright, full of life and often hilarious company, interesting and energetic, but my grey hairs are coming in thick and fast and I keep wondering when he might calm down a little bit.
Can anyone give me some hope!?

Nope, my 6 year old tested my patience these school holidays which he didn’t do last year when he was 5… so think it gets worst, well it has for me. Solidarity!

Sounds like you’re not getting the responses you were hoping for @yelppGinFlowers

I have two boys, one about to turn seven, the other recently turned five.

They are very different and both trying in different ways (though also lovely and amazing ! Just acting their age). Can't say I've noticed a huge difference between five and six, it's more about their personality than their age ime.

6 has been my favourite age for all my children ( currently 9+7)

Age 6 was a sensitive time here and other kids were quite mean too; 7 was a turning point, becoming much calmer, and significant developmental changes in maturity and academics.

Thanks for the responses.
Yes I imagine it’s hugely influenced by personality.
I guess I consider my DS to be a bit of a big toddler still in a way. So my thinking is surely it’ll get easier..
Ive also heard about 7 being a turning point as PP has mentioned

Anyone else? Just had an awful evening with DS. He’s refusing to read, he gets really frustrated with it really quickly and then gives up, rolls around on the floor, generally a bad attitude and whiny, lord give me strength!
