Warts - what has been your most unbelievable solution?

CheshireMum1212 · 21/08/2025 20:21

My daughter has warts and I have read a lot of info online about bazuka, freezing etc but the ones that seem to never have them actually return seem to be linked to old faith healers.

What has been the most random and out there thing you have found that worked for warts?

Dandelions work for verucas, my granny told me and I tried it and within a week they had gone. Get a dandelion from the garden, break the stem and rub the liquid on your veruca. It’ll go black after a day or two and die. It honestly works!! Might work on warts, who knows?!

It does - been used for centuries. But unless you practice natural gardening, pick froma wild spot like a park or countryside. You get a lot of chemicals used in gardens.

Tea tree oil. Only very slightly diluted. My DD had quite a lot for a few years and we tried everything. TTO got rid of them after a few days.

Just leave them be. DD had some for 6 months or so, then they left of own accord. No one caught them and they didn’t spread beyond the original 5 or 6. Same has happened with verrucas. You can also try occlusion (a bit of gaffer tape over each one) or rubbing banana peel. I hadn’t heard of dandelions! Will try if ever need to again.

My favourite teacher told me they were psychological, and that’s why old wives tales about rubbing with bacon and burying it on the north side of your house seemed to work. I’d had them all over my fingers for years. Within a few days they’d started to go and then they all went away and never came back. I still remember the conversation as clear as day and I don’t remember much 🤣

Edited

I totally believe this. Ive read about it so many times. I just wondered how long ir took for you to notice that the wart had gone?
I know with me and another daughter iy was only when we truly forgot all about them that they seemed to just vanish. It was weird as if we had no recollection of it at all. Same for one of my daughters with eczema and another with eczema and hair loss. It all disappeared as soon as we all forgot. Very strange.

I had about 20 on my hands and an old gypsy lady asked if she could buy them for two pennies. I agreed. She Gave me the two pennies and they disappeared within the week. Bloody weird but true. Haven’t had any more and that was about 30 years ago.

Mine all went away basically overnight I've night. I'd tried bazuka etc and eventually given up. Months later they just all vanished. I think I had 20 maybe 30. It was awful. Not that that helps now, but they do just go sometimes.

Do you remember them vanishing or was it just one day you woke up and realised that they had all gone?

Don’t knock it, but my daughter use to suffer from warts terribly—even in her face! Another mum gave me these homeopathic remedies, and they literally dropped off https://www.pharmasana.co.uk/stibium-sulfuratum-nigrum-d-30-dilution-20-ml-01066343

I had a horrible verruca which refused to go no matter how many things I tried. Eventually tried the duct tape cure I was certain couldn’t possibly work, and it did. Literally just cut a small piece of duct tape, stuck it on my foot each night and eventually the verucca just vanished.

I did try the freezing treatment but my god it was the most painful thing I've ever experienced and i just couldn’t face continuing with it long enough to have any success.

My Mum had a wart as a child that disappeared overnight when her grandma rubbed a small piece of steak on it and buried the steak in the garden. She had no idea what her grandma was doing at the time.
Mind you, I had a wart that disappeared overnight without the application of steak so we might just be genetically predisposed to rapidly disappearing warts.

How old were you at the time?

25 or 26. Weirdest thing that has ever happened to me and I can’t explain it 🤔🤔

Okrr · 13/09/2025 09:22

The tiny and numerous pin warts, pricked with needle and tea tree oil, eventually scabbed and went.

CheshireMum1212 · 13/09/2025 17:48

I find it so strange that these random people notice and offer to buy. Its kind of like an in built radar to things.

My dd had warts on fingers near fingernails. Covered them in vicks vapour rub before bed, then put on cotton gloves so it wouldn't get everywhere. In 2 weeks they were gone.

Rubbing a raw potato on them has to be the silliest thing I tried

Did it work? Ive read about that one a lot
