Double pushchair for baby and toddler? Confused

Hey guys, I gave birth to DS2 a month ago, and DS1 is 2 years 10 months old. We haven’t bought baby’s pushchair yet but we will next week, I was confused whether we should buy a single pram or a double for my baby and toddler? I don’t think a buggy board will work because I just don’t think he will be using it much at all, and he doesn’t like sitting in a pushchair either. He mostly walks when we go out to the mall or anywhere, or his dad holds him. But I will be starting to go for walks everyday and there’s no question about leaving him at home, he would throw the biggest tantrum 😂 the terrible twos are definitely real, haha. What do you guys think I should do? Also, my toddler weighs about 15kg and most double pushchairs I’ve been looking at are till the age of 3 or till the child weighs 15kg.

I’m not sure why you want a double if you say he prefers to walk. Can DC2 go in a sling of DC1 want to go in the buggy?

As previous poster can you use a sling or maybe get him a scooter or balance bike that you can fit in a basket under the pram/buggy?

not a lot of point buying a big double if he is unlikely to want to go in it…. My ds was 2.5 years when dad was born, bought a tandem double and we used it for maybe 6 months before he was walking everywhere so you probably only need to cope for a couple of months?

Baby Jogger City Mini GT2 and Out N About doubles have the highest weight limits (22kg). I’m looking to pick up one of these secondhand as my 3 year old has some mobility issues.

If you buy one secondhand at least you can sell it for similar if you don’t use it for long.

I think a buggy board sounds like exactly what you need. He can mostly walk but hop on for a brief rest if needed.

I would not get a double if he isn’t still napping and only rarely uses the pram now. We have a 2y11 month gap and didn’t need a double. On the odd occasion DC1 was knackered we’d put him in the buggy and DC2 in the carrier.
