My children are very young, 1.5 & 2. Me & my partner haven’t been together for around half a year now. I’ve been speaking to someone and he’s is just a wonderful person, but still very early days. I know im a long while off introducing anyone to my children but curious as to when others did it & how the experience went for you. Thank you for any advice xxx

Introduced to DD to now DH 9 months after meeting. She was 6. Slowly built up their relationship. He moved in with us 8 months later.

12 months before first meeting. Married and moved in together 5 years later. Been married 13 years now, and DS and DH have never had an argument.

It's hard to date when babies are so little, and the easy path is to just have new partner come round do you can spend time together.

Please consider carefully. The incidences of new male partners being violent or abusive to children not their own us very high.

"It's important to note that not all new partners pose a risk, and many step-parents provide loving and supportive environments for children. However, the statistics highlight the potential dangers and the need for increased awareness and support for children in these situations."

So just take it slow!
