Hello! My friend and their partner are struggling with an issue which I’m sure is as old as time (or as old as the invention of car seats, buggies and highchairs). V boisterous seven month old, HATES all of the above. Goes rigid, fists clenched, howls and howls. I can see that little one just wants to be free. Same issues with nappy changing apparently. Car is a particular problem. Friend has tried toys only for play in car etc but to no avail. Any tips please? Thank you!

Toys and distraction distraction distraction. It's like wrestling an alligator. Mine is 10 months now and it's still a struggle.

Lately, singing the Macarena helps with the nappy changes, my DS finds it hilarious.

Try and borrow a different car seat and see if it's any better. Some have strange positions and could be putting pressure on his stomach. Check if your car seat is a proper fit in your car.

Some babies never take to car seats, I think it's the restriction and angle. We switched to walking most places and using public transport until they were toddlers as it was much more comfortable for them. At that age mine didn't like the buggy either but was happy to be in a carrier. They are fine with it now at 3 years old.

Thanks @Somelays but unfortunately there is no option with this baby than car travel to get anywhere. Lives v remotely.
