Norovirus sweeping through the house

DH started vomiting this evening and now I'm feverish and sat by the toilet. We've got two children - 4 year old and 8 month old 😫. They're going to get it aren't they? How on earth we're going to prevent it when both me and DH are vomiting I don't know!! I'm also breastfeeding and baby wakes every 2 hours at the moment 🙃. I wish I could fast forward these next 48 hours!! Any advice or tips appreciated!!

Not sending her to nursery is probably better, not least because it means no one has to haul themselves out of the house to take her. Also having her around might give the 8 month old someone to watch playing and keep her slightly more occupied!

Very true! She is a wonderful big sister too and loves making her little sister laugh 🥰. She hasn't seen me yet, hiding from them as don't want them catching anything!!

Hello again! Are you still ploughing through it?

Hello again! Are you still ploughing through it?

Hello! Still ploughing through, I've struggled to get out of bed all day. Just completely zapped of energy and feel so faint. I haven't been sick since 10am now although I've yet to eat anything. Do feel as though I need to try, even if it's a slice of dry toast, as I've nothing in me and still trying to breastfeed. Both girls still so far showing no signs of the bug 🤞🏼. Thank you for checking in!

No problem, it’s a pleasant distraction from my full on work day! I hear plain crisps are good as well for a light re-introduction to food.

Hello - daily check in 🙂 how are things?

DancingtoDisney · 16/07/2025 09:59

@SummerEve hello! Pleased to confirm the vomiting has stopped 😅🎉!! Just a little wiped out. Just extremely grateful that only me and DH had it - neither child has shown any signs thankfully! Thank you for the crisps tip, I ended up slowly munching on a packet of mini cheddars at 8pm last night which seemed to help! That and a fruit pastille ice lolly!! Thank you for checking in, I think this thread kept me sane and distracted throughout! X
