When did you move your baby into upright seat in pram?

I have a 10 week old baby and she’s started getting really frustrated and upset in her carrycot because she wants to sit up. She is quite a big baby and has really good head control but feel like it’s too early to put her in the sit up part of the pram but a couple of people have said she is ready. I was wondering whether to put her in it but recline the seat so she isn’t properly sat up. When did you all sit your babies up in the pram?

Too early. It’s dangerous for babies to be out on an upright sitting position as can cause brain damage and spinal injury.

maybe wait until the 3 month mark and put her in the sit up part of the pram and recline it full like you said so she can look around

Yeah I’m not really comfortable with it just yet. I know she would love it but need to hold off a little bit longer. Thanks! X

Could you use something like this so they are not completely flat it is for prams too. When in a bouncy chair they are not flat. Do they have pram toys across the carrycot

Six months. We didn't have a proper pram just pushchairs where the seat lay flat for six months. They didn't seem to mind.

4 months. He had excellent head control and hated the bassinet. Our sitting position pushchair could also recline a bit so he wasn't completely upright.

About 6 months for DS who had a pram. DD was in the other seat of a double Out and About Nipper from 10 weeks but I had it totally flat until about 5.5 months

Definitely by about 4 months high enough to see the world whilst out and about.Unless sleeping .No brain damage, spinal injuries!
All healthy functioning adults now.

Thanks everyone. We’ve been out for a walk today and she just cried and cried. I really think it would help her while she’s awake as she loves being upright and looking around at everything. Maybe if she’s in it but reclined a little for short periods of time and obviously flat when sleeping and do it gradually.

Pram refusal is very hard but it really won't be good for her to sit up now. Maybe try a carrier? Like the baby bjorn type ones, a good supportive one. My baby loved those.

About 5 months i think. Started off with the seat reclined all the way back so she was basically flat anyway, she did have good head control early on though.

My friend gave up on the bassinet after 2 months because her baby was so big he didn't fit into it anymore.

Sympathy, it's so hard, my DD cried constantly in the bassinet until we moved her to sitting up around 5 months. Hang in there, not too long to go!
