So I’m aware this may just be the latest trend on social media but I’m seeing a large quantity of unflattering photos/videos being posted of kids.
Im talking about kids having temper tantrums/ crying over something/ just generally looking miserable. I get that kids have their off days, mine certainly does but I don’t see the need to plaster it all over the likes of Facebook. Especially as it seems some people are only posting the ones of their kids being unhappy and not when they’re happy.
I have a friend who genuinely only posts photos of her kids looking upset and I’ve seen them quite happy in person so it’s not like they’re always unhappy. We had school pictures and both our kids were not in the mood that day. I got maybe 5 proofs and my kid was so unhappy & crying so I just didn’t buy them. She tried convincing me to buy them just cause it’s funny and to show him how miserable he was when he’s older. I’ve asked her why she keeps on posting the sad/ unhappy moments over the happy ones and she just comments that she’ll have them to show how much hard work they were. It just honestly baffles me.
I get that all kids have bad days, I’ve taken photos of mine during a tantrum to show his dad but I have no intention of holding it over my kids heads when they’re older.
I'm guessing I’m just trying to work out what’s the actual point of it all? Again I can understand people that post every aspect of it all, the good days and bad days but I’m on about the ones that solely focus on the bad.
