ok lots of mil classic insulting comments but what do you say/do in return?

Just wondering, as my mil and fil take turns in making these types of comments and as i'm 30 weeks pregnant, my patience is running pretty thin and i am fed of wasting valuable energy fuming about things. Dh eventually will say things but never when they make these comments which makes me feel pretty unsupported.

Then I think it would be reasonable to say something yourself at the time - try it at the next one....

Say, 'how interseting' archly and then smile and rise above it.

My MIL is a cow and a total know it all. Winds her up no idea not getting into a fight with her - thats all they are angling for generally

interesting even... duh

be really nice to them instead - lovely to spend the afternoon with you, do you think so, oh really.... just say nothing to provoke them - outwit them.

Just blank the comment, look interested and continue to wait for a comment... They'll start to question their sanity
