Can I put my own black box in my son’s car?

My 17 year old already has insurance without a black box.

Is there an independent company where I can self- install a black box and monitor his driving via my phone? Things like speeding alerts?

TIA x

I’ve no idea but we’ve life360 which shows where they’ve been driving and speeds ? My son trips me up with this and points out my misdemeanours 🤣🤣🤣

Oh wow! Thank you, I will have a look into it xx I had no idea it showed driving speeds!

May I ask where you found affordable insurance for a 17 year old without any form of telematics

This has been a topic of conversation at my work as a couple of my co workers have children coming up to driving age

Of course, we have a multi-family policy for all four cars with Admiral ( me hubby x2 children). Sadly, they would only offer a black box if my son was restricted to driving during the day only. As he has a restaurant job in the evening, we had to proceed without the black box, which wasn’t ideal as I found it really useful with my daughter!
