What do you do with your baby at the petrol station

I don’t drive, but I am really curious I don’t know why but I’ve been thinking about it the last few days.

if you have a baby/toddler and go to the petrol station, what do you do when paying? I’m not talking about paying at the pump, I’m talking about going in to pay. Do you get baby out and bring them with you?

Take them in. I don’t get about it being dangerous. I just carry them and it seems no different to walking across a car park when we go to any other shop? Why is the petrol station uniquely dangerous? Even when it’s busy there’s only a few cars driving around the pumps slowly. Surely it’s no different than walking from the car across the car park to go in to Asda.

If you let your toddler walk on their own then I get it is dangerous but being carried is surely just as safe as an adult walking alone. Are many adults getting run over at petrol stations? (Maybe they are - I have no idea!)

I didnt realise I was in the minority here - i just leave them in the car!

You’re not in real life. On MN it’s a terribly fraught and dangerous thing to do.

Leave them in the car. Same with returning a trolley in the supermarket.

Leave them in the car, lock them in, monitor them from the shop window, get back asap.

Take them in if it’s not pay at pump.

Leave them in the car.

It is far more dangerous to drag them back and forth across the forecourt than it is to leave them in a locked car.

This 100% . All of mine were always left in car .

Left them in the car

Pay at pump or take them in.
I don't leave them in the car to go inside the shop.
