Worried about grandparents’ hearing aid batteries

My mother has a hearing aid and stores it, alongside button batteries, in an overstuffed zip bag. The other week she went to get her aid and the batteries flew out of her bag.

she insists she needs to bring the batteries but as I have 8 month old and a three year old, it really worries me they’ll get hold of the button batteries.

ideally I’d like to get her a small childproof case but I can’t find one anywhere! Does anyone have any ideas?

Can you offer to keep spares at your house in a child safe place and container, so she doesn’t have to bring her own? Or did this happen at her house?

We used to keep a spare pack of batteries at ours, locked in a cupboard. So gran left her spares at home.

that’s a good idea. My main concern is she’ll forget to leave them at home. That will almost certainly happen. I can’t believe there isn’t a small size lockable case for medicine and hearing aid batteries!
