Ex-Husband's Lack of Communication Regarding Daughter's Schooling

Hi everyone,
I’m struggling with a situation involving my ex-husband, the father of our 13-year-old daughter, and I could use some advice.
We only communicate via email or through our daughter, which I'm not comfortable with. The problem is that he often ignores my emails, even though I only reach out for important matters related to our daughter, such as her schooling.
Our daughter is in Year 8 at an independent school, but my ex has stated he can't afford to continue paying for her schooling there. He mentioned applying for a different school (where our older children went) for her to start in September. Despite several follow-up emails, I haven't received any updates from him about whether she has a place there or what the next steps are.
Additionally, he stopped paying child maintenance over a year ago due to financial issues, so I've allowed those funds to go towards our daughter's school fees instead. We have a court order from our divorce stating that child maintenance should be paid until our youngest finishes their education, but given his current financial situation, I've been covering the school fees for now.
I'm at my wit's end with the lack of communication and am considering seeking legal advice. Has anyone else dealt with a similar situation? Any tips or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you, Nicky

Apply for the state school you want and move her. He isn't paying and unless you can afford it you need to move her. Why do you need to know next steps from him?

Child maintenance- get them to take the legal amount from his wages.
