Going on holiday with a 2 year old, do we need to take a car seat?

Hi we will be travelling to Qatar. We will be taking the pram which we will gate check. Do we need to take a car seat as well? Its bulky enough travelling with a pram but if we are out and about and needing to travel in taxis/ubers, not sure about the car seat situation? Thanks

Yes, if you plan on any car travel. How else will the 2 year old travel by car?

Are you thinking adhoc journeys or pre-planned (ie: airport transfer) where you can book in advance and find a cab company that provides car seats?

We've been away twice with our now 7 month old and just avoided car travel as we can't be arsed dragging the car seat about with us, frankly. I'm unsure what the public transport situation is like in Qatar though.

I'm not sure what the law is in Qatar but here in the UK children aren't required to use car seats for short taxi journeys. I know that's far from ideal from a safety perspective so would not be my preference but is possible.
