To think parents & grandparents expectations of each other are ridicululous

AND YES I SEE MY TYPO IN THE TITLE 🤣

The expectations of posters/commenters on MN as either parents just expecting grandparents to provide childcare and being outraged when they won’t, and vice versa grandparents thinking they’re entitled to spend time with grandkids is ridiculous.

Interesting to hear perspectives from anyone who does expect either of the above and why?

Most of us are grateful for what grandparents do and don't expect a lot. It doesn't sell papers...

It’s not what I see on MN.

Funnily enough, people don’t tend to post about their positive, happy experience and relationships. There will always be a bias towards drama and difficulty.

I have very good relationships with my DILs and DGC. Nothing to see here!
