30 hours and tax free childcare - 2 providers

My son currently goes to a childminder 3 days a week but we are looking at sending him to a nursery attached to a school for 2 days aswell before he starts school next year. His 30 hours are basically covered at the childminders so nursery would be an additional cost. Can we use the tax free childcare across both providers?! We pay more for the childminder for half terms but wouldn't pay anything for the nursery as it is term time only.

The maths is hurting my head but for example... Let's pretend its February and childminder charges £200 for food and 3 days at half term, but nursery charges £440 for 3 weeks (2 days a week). Would we get TFC on the combined amount or just for the higher amount?!

So confused haha! Thank you!!!!

You get up to the maximum amount (I think it's £500 every 3 months??) Topped up in an account. You can add as many providers as you want. You then pay them from there.

His 30 hours are covered at the CM, so I’d just use tax free childcare for the nursery when it’s open. Presumably it’s a voucher scheme that you purchase through salary sacrifice, so buy what you need for the 2 days, term time only.

Yes you can, up to the 3 monthly limit. Check with the school though, not so accept TFC

Yes, you can use across different providers up until you use up your limit for the quarter, which I doubt you will given the numbers. You just need to add the second provider to your account and pay using the same balance of funds as you do now.
