My son wants a refurbished Apple iPhone 12 mini. Are they reliable?

Hi there, we always had Samsung phones as a family (since Nokia went bust).

However, my secondary school son wants a refurbished Apple iPhone 12 mini as a replacement.

I heard that buying a reburbished Apple iPhone is a terrible idea. I heard the glitch will come back and it will be a waste of money (after you spent a fortune trying to fix it).

My son found this phone on Amazon and apparently it comes with 1 year warranty. (Products sold by third-party sellers are covered by the voluntary 1-year Amazon Renewed Guarantee (see below).

I am interesterd to know other people's expereinces. Please. It would be a big expense for me.

I've always bought refurbished phones from music magpie and giff gaff - one had a problem and was replaced under warranty with no quibble, all others have been fine and I've kept them at least 5 years. I wouldn't buy refurbished from amazon.

I've bought a few refurbished phones and found them to not last as long as a new phone, others may have a better experience though x
