I just accidentally ran across this on Reddit:

I wouldn't pay for the education if I was being spoken to in a rude and dismissive way - if she wants to go no contact, fine but she doesn't get her hard earned cash!

Tbf I went NC with my parents and absolutely don’t want or expect a penny off them. However here I’d be deeply worried the boyfriend here is controlling and would be trying to pack her off to a college as far away as possible to help get rid of him.

No contact is no contact - no cash obviously

If I was mum I’d put the cash in a savings account somewhere and use it for my retirement travels later in life.

I would not spend it on the other child.

I went NC with my dad years ago but never expected any money from him and never got any.

I agree with the mum to be fair. This NC way of dealing with family issues and your own emotions is ridiculous so she can't expect her mum to pay for her

I'm not promoting anything. That just happens to be the source. It's no different than if I were posting about a fashion trend and linked to a Vogue article.
