Tips for things to take pics/videos of as kids grow up

Hello! I was just wondering if anyone has any tips or experience about things that are fun to record about your kids. I do the usual bits, days out etc, but I wasn't very good with filling out a baby book for the first year so some bits that we don't have pics of are a bit fuzzy and I just wondered what other people look back on so I kind of know what I might miss in the future, if that makes sense? I'm much better with pics and videos, so keen to know things that other people now look back on and are glad they recorded, or wish they had?

I write my son a letter every few months - I have a notebook and they’re all in there, handy, and I just pull it out sometimes. I started with the intent of giving it to him on a significant birthday but I already doubt I’ll give them to him(!) as they’re much more about how he is and my memories of him at the time

Their heights.. We have loads of pics of siblings competing for who is the tallest this week /month!! Back to back with a book across their heads!
Currently it's ds 15 and dd 35 neck and neck!!
Also we holiday the same place every year and retrace steps of walks etc and retake same pose pics!!

Oh wow, love this, didn't expect to get a response so quickly! Can't wait to see what other people say. I like that it isn't every month as I never manage to stick to things as life flies past so quick at the moment.

I have filled gift bags with tickets from days out and receipts from gift shops etc. Maps from holiday places... Packed in a few photos also.. I have this idea when I am old and decrepid (despite the dc thinking I am already at 53!) and going through all this stuff with adult dc and remembering The Good Olde Days! A few times a year I print off an album full from my phone.. Type a title into your Google pics and print a batch at a time... Done one for 2 x ds's. One for ddogs only too!!

I keep a photo folder/album tagged 'things we made' for all our pictures, crafts, cakes, projects etc
