I love my children and I wouldn’t be without them but …

I do fantasise about sleep. About going to bed and falling asleep and waking up when I am ready to wake up and (oh bliss) staying in bed a while.

I have a nearly four year old son; he’s fine, he goes to bed around 8 and sleeps through until around 7, hardly ever wakes. I also have a fourteen month old and her sleep is far more unsettled as we’d expect I guess. She goes to sleep 7-8 (closer to 7 normally) and usually wakes around 11 and has a bottle. Then she will go back to sleep until around 2 am. This one tends to be tricker to manage as she only has water then which is fine but it can be tricky getting her back in her cot. She then usually wakes at 5-530.

It really is tiring. DS went through the 530 waking up stage but was sleeping through by then and tbh it was still shit. But broken nights plus early mornings are exhausting.

DH sleeps right through her waking. He will take her in the morning if he’s there (works away) but all too often I end up yawning and powering through on caffeine.

I know it ends eventually but I am just moaning … I am so so tired.
