Baby sucking on dirty bathroom cloth

Hi everyone,

I suffer with anxiety and health anxiety anyway but I feel so horrendous I want to cry. My 1 year old is my third child and he is the one that I have the worst anxiety with (anxiety surrounding protecting him etc ) so I cleaned the bath before he got in it like I always do and popped the cleaning sponge on the side.

I was sat with him while he was splashing around and while I had my eye off him he must’ve grabbed the bathroom cleaning cloth off the side of the bath and started sucking on it.

I am absolutely mortified and feel like a sh*tty horrendous mum. I have him milk afterwards but so worried now.

Any advice?

He will be fine I'm assuming he only had it in his mouth for seconds any chemicals on it will be diluted with water (water from cleaning dont give him water) and his stomach acids will do the rest. Any dirt isn't a problem babies and kids are always licking stuff and putting it in their mouths with no ill effect. If he had his bottle and seems happy enough I really wouldn't worry. Also don't be hard on yourself it's honestly not that bad iv got 2 kids and the amount of stuff they've done the second I look away is unbelievable kids are quick but their also pretty resilient.
