If your ex refused to return child then relented, would you give them back again?

Joint custody, parent refused to return child. Relented before legally forced. Would you send the child back for contact and risk a repeat. Or would you now refuse to return child and make them go to court?

I feel like sending them back again is naive stupidness. But refusing is being just as bad as them.

I would contact a solicitor who specialises in these matters for advice

Depends on the situation I guess. Do they live far away, how old is DC, can you go get them if it goes wrong again?

I would get an emergency hearing to get a lives with order.

It very much depends on the situation and his reason for not returning them. My DH refused to return my DSD when she was ill because he didn't trust his ex to look after her properly. Part of the reason she was so ill in the first place was due to his ex looking after her properly. DSD also did not want to go to her mum's.
